Chef John has come a long way from bussing tables twenty years ago to achieving Gold Medal recognition by his peers and a partner position as Executive Chef and General Manager of Gios, Spring Texas, probably one of the best Italian restaurants this side of New York City.

And if it's really that good, which it is, it's because Chef John is the natural-born food artist behind the scenes making it happen. In a short twenty years he has come up through the foodservice ranks. He's done it all, and along the way has honed what seems to be an innate sense for how to blend taste, texture and style with artistic presentations of glorious foods. Chef John is his own signature item!

A graduate of California Culinary Academy, Chef John is the recipient of multiple awards from the Texas Chefs Association, where he was awarded Gold and Silver medals, the Houston Epicurean Evening, and has been several times nominated as "One of Houston's Top Ten Young Chefs". He has been featured in the Houston Chronicle "Texas Magazine", Houston Press Magazine, My Table Magazine, Texas Monthly, among others, and has appeared on Food Television Network "Dining Around", "Good Morning, Houston" and with Ron Johnson and Marvin Zindler. He is a former Executive Chef at Houston's Grotto and of other popular restaurants here and across the country.
