Richard Knight, Taverna Winery & Restaurant
Richard is from the United Kingdom and has 20 years experience as a chef. While in London he worked in, amongst others, Gordon Ramsay’s Petrus Restaurant and Richard Corrigan’s Lindsay House, both Michelin starred, high profile, establishments, before moving on to run his own, very successful, restaurant in the world-famous artist community at St. Ives in Cornwall.
He has lived in the US for 10 years, first in California, working as a private chef and caterer in Laguna Hills, before moving to Houston in 2000. He was the executive chef for Bon Appetit, downtown, winning the Grand Championship award in the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo’s Best Bites competition in 2006 before bringing his culinary expertise to Taverna Winery & Restaurant.
James and Richard have been eating, drinking and cooking together for their entire adult lives and now, following up on their legendary feasts and parties in Houston, team up again to bring their unique style of hearty, passionate, European-style eating to Taverna Winery & Restaurant.
