Stanley Szambelak, Vesuvio
Stanley Szambelak was born and raised in South Philadelphia. He worked as a teenager in family owned restaurants and found later in life that it was a passion. With front and back of house restaurant experience, he worked his way through college and acquired a bachelors and masters degree in the arts at NYU.
After university, and with two degree under his belt, he decided to continue to pursue a professional career in the restaurant industry; consulting for a investment group and overseeing 6 of their Manhattan restaurants and nightclubs.
After 8 years in The Big Apple, Stanley decided to return to Philadelphia, and to his roots in the 'family owned' restaurant scene, operating as a GM, event coordinator, and chef at Vesuvio Restaurant and Bar owned by the D'Addesi family. He plans to open a venue of his own in the near future.
